Sarvajal – The First Day

Yesterday was my first day on the job at Sarvajal. The people here are dedicated and talented. Everyone comes with a variety of personal experiences. The personnel diversity definitely helps bring new and fresh ideas to the table. These various perspectives create a more honed product and service that we as a team can provide.

As with all promising start-ups, the aspirations are high – we want to scale up in a big way. At the same time, we’re focused not to spread ourselves too thin, especially in locations challenged in infrastructure. We’re using various technologies to help counteract these infrastructural barriers. There’s some amazing technologies that are in the works here ready to take on the challenges of rural India. En Route to Ahmedabad

As each day got closer to the self desired inevitability of my decision to make the change, my decision began to get more and more clouded. What was once a 50:50 decision, tipped in a direction from indecision to decision by the undesirability of life-long regret, now became all the more difficult to make.

Packing

This past weekend I finally started the packing effort. It’s been hard. When you begin to pack your life away in 2 suitcases, you realize what you’re giving up. Not the material things, those items can be bought wherever you end up. It’s the people, the area, and the community you’re giving up. It will be hard to leave a great thing behind, but when you think about where you’re going and what you’re going to be doing it can’t be beat. Nowhere else can I get international start-up experience impacts so many lives, solving a critical issue in daily necessity. I’m extremely excited about the opportunity.
