Sarvajal – Accepted

By Sameer Kalwani, May 24, 2009

On May 2nd, 2009 I decided to leave my current place of employment, Deloitte Consulting, where I worked as a Consultant in their Technology Practice over the past 2 and a half years. There I served in the Technology Strategy and Architecture Group concentrating in next generation data center technology and IT operations optimization. There I worked to redesign existing systems, and utilize technologies, to reduce the overall operational cost to host enterprise level applications. At the same time I worked to streamline and and create organizational structure to IT operations, through my ITIL certified techniques. This was a daunting challenge over the course of my first two years out of college, but I took on the challenge with great respect, and vigor to succeed in what was presented in front of me.

Deloitte is a great organization and I wouldn’t change my time there for a second. It provided me with great company, great experiences, and great challenges. But along came an offer that made my head turn. It was Sarvajal.

Shukriya Network – Goodbye

By Sameer Kalwani, May 24, 2009

So the domain name of this blog is Shukriya.org. This was originally intentioned for a social network website called Shukriya Network. Shukriya Network is (or as you can tell from the post title, the more appropriate verb tense is now “was”) a social networking website intended to foster the growth of entrepreneurship. The concept is that many people come up with great ideas, but do nothing with them. The website would allow people to post these ideas online rather than just throwing them away. The ideas would take on a life of their own, people who have the financial backing, branding expertise, talent or whatever would come together to support the idea to make that idea maker an idea executer.

This isn’t the end of the concept, but its the end of the name. We’re now in the process of developing a new name for the site. Let us know if you have any recommendations.

In the meantime, I’m working with 2 great individuals right now to lead the development effort, but am looking for more tangible support. We’ve got several openings – posted on idealist.org:

Perceptual Action – ToC

By Sameer Kalwani, May 24, 2009

Confidant – That’s what I’ve always been. People have always consulted me for advice on what to do and where to go. Quite honestly, I don’t know how to have a relationship with people without doing so. It’s not a desire to control, or judge people, its only what I know.

But there’s a reason why people have always come to me for advice, and constantly people have told me I should write a book with all my advice tips. I merely took them as a complement, but in a desire to take my life to another level I decided to go with it.

I’m currently authoring a book with the intention of providing direct common sense advice on life. The idea is to keep everything simple and straight forward. The obstacles in life have a great deal of similarity even though it can seem relatively different at the time. This book discusses common life obstacles and applies the same concepts to each.

This book spans on everything, from parenting, dieting, leading, investing, and more. keep reading to see the table of contents that I’ve drafted up so far for the book.
